Same-Day Crowns in Yuma AZ
You know how important it is to have healthy teeth, but your busy schedule may not leave you much room to set aside time for multiple trips to the dentist. We understand, and we make it a point to do everything we can to streamline your visits and make your treatments as efficient as possible.
Damaged teeth need to be fixed so you can enjoy a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime. Dental crowns have always been an essential part of dentistry, and CEREC same-day crowns are one of the most revolutionary improvements we’ve seen in dentistry recently.
Yes, it is now possible for us to crown a tooth at our Yuma dental office in just one visit!
One-Day CEREC Crowns
Traditional crowns are a handy way to repair a damaged tooth, and we’re happy to offer that option also. We want to help you make a decision that fits all your needs, including your budget. But the advantage of using CEREC one-day crown technology is that we can create your new crown in about two hours while you wait.
CEREC crowns allow you to avoid the lengthy process associated with traditional crowns. With CEREC same-day crowns in Yuma AZ, you’ll walk out of our office the same day with a fully functional, permanent crown. Unlike conventional crowns, there are no multiple injections, no impressions, no temporary crown, and no two-week wait while your new crown is being created.
How CEREC Technology Works
CEREC relies on advanced technology that lets us build your new crown using digital images. After your tooth prepared for the new crown, we’ll take a picture of your tooth. Dr. Carroll uses this image to create the crown virtually, then uses the data gathered to fabricate your crown. The finished crown is cleaned, polished, refined to fit perfectly, and then secured in your mouth.
With proper care, your CEREC crown may last a lifetime. Things that affect the lifespan of your new crown are oral hygiene, keeping up with regular dental visits, and the wear and tear your crown has to go through.
Teeth grinding, in particular, can take a real toll on your new crown as well as your natural teeth. If you do grind your teeth, we can recommend a night guard that prevents you from grinding your teeth while you sleep.

Caring for a Dental Crown
When your crown freshly placed, you will want to be careful not to bite down too hard or chew difficult-to-eat foods on the new crown. Once the cement has cured for about twenty-four hours, it should be friendly and secure.
After the first twenty-four hours, caring for your crown is not much different from caring for your regular teeth. Brush and floss the crown as usual. Remember that while today’s crowns are quite sturdy, they can still be chipped or damaged by extreme force. We recommend you avoid chewing on tough things such as ice or jawbreakers with your crown.
